Why should Mondays be hated ?
Simple !
Take ten minutes to get out of the Binnenstraat at 6u30 because the ILVA truck is deliberately going as slow as possible despite the cars behind. Yes, I’m sure …
Then, take the most horrendous traffic jam in the year. Yes, I arrived at 9u so about 2 hours and a half were needed in order to drive 40 km … The Horror !
Finally, take a high level of absenteeism with a major crash (which nobody seems to know where it could come from .. Oh no .. maybe, eventually, hypothetically, it could perhaps be a damaged router. Took 8 hours for this assumption).
Voilà
The whole lot seasoned with some nagging, some annoying statements and this one horrible day.
Can’t wait to be tomorrow …
No Really …

Voilà, after … pff, what ? Two months ? Don’t remember…
Whatever, after some time of patience here’s the new car of Chr.
A nice overly equipped Renault Mégane. Already drove it and it’s coooooooooooollll.
Gotta love the double sun-roof for sure and all the little add-ons that make the Audi A3 almost look like an sad auntie.
*giggles*
Oh the results I was waiting for came back.
Well no, not really.
I got a reminder regarding the invoice.
Cute as I never get the original one in the first place. But this probably was due to the horrendous way they noted the address.
Shoot …
Anyway, called around and finally got the doctor : all is okay !
Can breath for a little while longer !
For the rest, J cracked up and did a meeting with the team.
Finally some explanations were given and this allowed me as well to get a full understanding of the process cycle.
Tomorrow, we are getting a survey feedback meeting.
It’s in the morning. Technically, this should go normally well, but this is odd … really odd.
On top, on Friday, there’s a meeting with unions. So far so good. This is called a staff meeting, only for the “encadrement” to discuss some advantages some get whenever they are high enough in the hierarchy. But once again, this is …. odd.
Won’t be able to attend as I’ll be working on Saturday and the recup day will be this Friday. Nope no 6 working days this week. Fiewwwwww.
*Sighs*
We’ll see … We’ll see and hope for the best.

The weekend is arrived and you could believe that all will be nice and smooth.
Ha ha ha.
Poor naïve thing that you are….
B announced me that the forecast for the coming month was going even lower. I still wonder how this is possible to be honest but here are the facts.
I’m getting worried about this.
Crisis here, crisis there … but in the end this still doesn’t make much sense in the reality of facts.
Or does it ?
Oh and after two months, finally, received the letter was waiting for from France.
Opened it eagerly and tada … only an invoice without the results of the test.
Stress rushed up through my spine in less than one milli-second.
One thing that could be in my favor : it seems to be a reminder of the invoice which is totally possible considering the fact that the address is amazingly weirdly written down.
But still …
I tried to call France earlier but office closed.
I’ll try again tomorrow but …
*sighs and shakes head*

Wow, it’d been such a while !
But it’s also been majorly busy for us these last weeks.
Definitely, work has been ultra busy with a lot of things to do which included an ultra long day (arrived at 8u, left at midnight and something and came back at 8u in the morning …).
This was madly tiresome but quite exhilarating as well and in the end our goal was successfully reached so what the hell !!!
*giggles*
The house has been moving ahead as well.
Yesterday, we got two new doors installed : one in the kitchen and one which is actually rather a big window in the little back kitchen.
We had been waiting for these for a little while and I’m glad they are finally in place.
There’s still some work to be done around these but if some will be able to be done in the coming days … hours (*hint*).
For the rest, this will be done later on within the year … we hope.
Carnival is also coming closer and closer each day.
If Christophe is getting agitated and starts nagging to have the Delforge to enter in full activity, M at work is also explaining the developments of the group she’s working with. I even have a few hints of what this big group will let us see this year.
But sssshhh, I can’t say anything … I suppose.
To be honest, I’m not even sure, we will be going to the carnival stoet this year. It will depend (and badly) on the weather that we will have to face on this day.
Allez, we’ll know more within two weeks.
Oh and my little laptop got a new face (yeah I know …).
I got it with Linpus. I was bothered by the desktop : not that it was not linux-noob-friendly but this was too different.
Okay, so Christophe installed another one : Ubuntu.
Here I had a more known interface and this was going rather okay.
Well, at first yes … then, I got blocked in some ways : the comp was acting annoyingly slow and it stubbornly refused to display the videos I watched online.
Christophe tried to get it fixed but without real success.
So what ? We got some added RAM to boost the beast and we installed XP (yes … yes …).
Too bad it was even slower … the total and utter horror …
Sooooo, we installed a stripped down version of XP and now, it seems that I have it all : my features and the speed.
Hiiii, finally my slowpoke is ready.

Thursday.
After yet another moral phone call from SB and on top, after he thinks am going to back him up on his great feat, he’s totally shocked because in fact had to ask him to stop lecturing B2B customers.
As far as this goes, this is not his spot to lecture someone because he thinks he can’t hear him/her, because he/she chews a chewing-gum so he finds it rude, etc.
He didn’t even accept my comments.
Friday.
Arrived at work and saw that had an email from this moron stating that he was disappointed that I wouldn’t back him up in his insults to the customers.
Oh, he also adds that he doesn’t like to be treated like a 5-year old.
Interesting considering he does treat the customers like that but apparently he can’t accept to be sent back in his suited spot.
Frankly didn’t appreciate his attitude in this email.
Briefed V. about this case.
As she was on duty on Saturday along with him, I was pretty positive he would come back again with the horror of being told “no”.
V. seemed to understand the story and could only hope that she would back up.
Saturday.
Received an email from VV saying that SB hasn’t stopped nagging since this morning and screams to whoever wants to listen that he’s the poor victim of a brutal injustice.
According to this and as expected, he probably went to nag in V’s skirts and so it would seem that he didn’t get backed up as he wanted.
Waiting impatiently to get more info, but might have to wait until next week.
Anyway, what is the conclusion here ?
What a sad M-O-R-O-N !!!

This is an official WOOHOO !!!
Here I am proudly typing a message on a freshly installed Firefox 3.0.5 on Linux via Terminal !!!
Bon, let’s be fair : I followed, dutifully, some instructions I found googling … But still !! It’s working !!
;oP

This is the official beginning of the year : holidays are over and it’s time to start with all these good resolutions.
As an added bonus, this morning, we do have snow.
This beginning of winter (hey yes, winter started on the 21st of December …) is quite … winterlike … silly perhaps but I have the feeling that it’s been ages that we haven’t got an actual winter.
So yes, it’s cold, but I think I like it.
Oh as for the Netbook is going, I’m still super happy about it even if there was some kind of boohbooh yesterday and we had to do the very first recovery. As nothing was installed (anyway, the SSD HD or whatever you call it, is all tiny so installations are not my main goal) so not too much harm done but a massive loss of time.
Still, playing with your comp nice and deep in a warm bed … you could get used to it … I think …. I fear !
Allez, one new week during which much will have to be done and processed.
It’s day one.

Today, if anything else, is some kind of big day.
For the first time, ever, in my own world, I’ve just thrown myself in the Linux world !!
Christophe offered me a ultra cute Netbook with a Linux OS.
It’s a new world but not massively different that the one I’m used too though. I was expecting more complicated than that. Then again, it’s an easy one, I think.
But it’s super cool !!!
Besides that, this was a super busy day.
Our first week at work is already finished and I haven’t seen it passing by. Amazing. And the same pretty much happened this Saturday.
We went to the market this morning. God, it was cold, it was snowing (a little) and as this was the first day of the soldes, oh my god, the amount of people in the streets ! Craziness !!
Then, we went at Christophe’s parents as we were to get our Christmas gift today.
Well, we’ve been looking throughout the internet for the last days to find the laundry machine we are being offered.
After many web visits, and despite a real visit to the Mediamarkt of Gent, we are going to stay on a super cool one we came across on a Hollander website. We are going to order it this weekend and soon enough, we should be like grown up persons doing their own laundry …. hihihi
Allez, hop, hop, my battery is almost empty ….

Back from France last Saturday with a car full of goodies for us and the house, here we are back in Belgium where it’s scandalously cold.
Well, no … if really a choice needed to be made, I would prefer this kind of weather instead of the suffocating warmth that this country can encounter.
Anyway, back to work.
Back pain (horrible but going better … still want to put it on the back (gnac) of the change of matrass and change of temperature).
And the 2008 backdoor is about to be closed.
One year has gone through already.
Within this last year, we met new people, I met a new floor that I love, we got Babylon to join us, we bought a little house and moved in, we went to holidays and we made plenty of other things …
One year …
Happy New Year to all.
May the new year bring what you wish for, besides happiness and health, that is…
Best Wishes for 2009 !!
